I want to share with you a personal mission I am on and one that I think you too can be a part of.
While there are many great charities out there asking for your support I want you to think differently and think about strategic philanthropy.
That is, directing your hard earned dollars and time to causes that you have a direct connection with.
My Story
Believe it or not helping others began for me when I was in pre-school. I did not discover this until I was a father with kids and while trying to teach them to tie their shoes I just couldn't teach them. My wife Jenny pointed out that I was actually doing it backwards as if tying someone else's shoe. When I told my Mom this story she wasn't surprised at all and told me that when I was in pre-school that was my job... to help kids with disabilities or anyone who couldn't tie their shoes... and so I did.
Four decades later I have helped raise millions, yes millions of dollars for non-profits and I NEVER did it alone.
In fact, I ALWAYS did it with the support of family and friends and that, you should know, has made all the difference. Thank you... truly.
This year I am not doing MOvember or any other cause... instead I have helped create a non-profit called Community Investors dedicated to helping kids; specifically, using creative after-school play (flag-football, dodgeball, etc.) as an opportunity for kids to socialize, de-stress, get active, strengthen emotionally, and have fun. Our goal is to create a model in my town of Wellesley that can be replicated in any community, anywhere.
Sounds simple... and it is if you have the right people and programs that create these kinds of opportunities for kids to shine. If not, we are left with the status quo and the picture grows darker by the day.
Research and news tells us kids today are:
- MORE disconnected/anti-social
- MORE stressed/suicidal
- LESS active
- WEAKER emotionally
- And WINNING and ELITISM are more important than fun and friends
Please join me by investing in our youth and making healthy the new normal for the next generation.

All donations are tax-deductible.
If you think your company shares in our mission and can match or sponsor our efforts please let me know and I can provide further details.
This weekend I will be leading a charity challenge team supporting Community Investors along with The 431 Project at the Fenway Spartan Sprint. Overcoming obstacles and helping others is a great metaphor for life.
Please join me in changing the world for the better by supporting kids and communities in our backyard and across the world.
IMPORTANT: A great way to accelerate our success and support the team is by seeking help from your company in the form of a match/challenge donation or by seeking additional contributions from leaders and others that believe that one of the greatest skills in life is the ability to overcome obstacles and in the process helping others. Don't forget, your biggest fans/supporters are your family and friends! Tell them what we are doing and invite them to join the team. We all need to be our own hero but it takes a team to do the remarkable.
Shine on, shine bright.
Inspire the fire,
Chris Cavallerano
